Caliente International / Windows Support Pty Ltd While You Were Out 4.2 July 20, 1994 [IMPORTANT!!! READ ALL OF THIS DOCUMENT] Caliente International, Inc. began developing products in 1989. The company develops and markets software products to make office tasks more efficient and pleasing. The company has developed two products, While You Were Out and Code Search. In addition, Caliente International is the exclusive distributor for Windows Support's ZipCode Express, an exciting product from Australia. While You Were Out is a fast, efficient and fun to use tool that allows you to record, store, retrieve and automate you entire telephone answering process. It takes the mundane task of telephone messaging and turns it into something of value for your organization. Caliente International imports ZipCode Express from Australia based Windows Support. ZipCode Express is a U.S. Postal Service adaptation of their popular PostCode Express. ZipCode Express allows you to search for any U.S. zip code according to state, city or county. Its powerful Soundex matching system allows "Sounds Like" queries of the ZipCode database. In an effort to revolutionize the way Patients, Doctors, Insurance Companies and the United States Government(Medicare) access health care, Code Search is a multi-faceted tool designed to ensure accurate claim processing through ICD9 Diagnostic Codes, Universal Physician Codes, Insurance Company Database and CPT Procedure Cost Analysis. All three products are currently on the market and have been well received. Caliente International is in the process of developing additional efficiency tools both for the medical office environment as well as for the general administrative office markets. The company's strengths lie the fact that its products are easy to use, require very little training or instructional reading and, in general, turn mundane tedious office tasks into efficient processes. ********************************* WHILE YOU WERE OUT 4.2 INSTALLATION AND PRODUCT OVERVIEW ********************************* Disclaimer IN NO EVENT SHALL CALIENTE OR WINDOWS SUPPORT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFIT OR ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL DAMAGE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHER DAMAGES. Server Installation and Running the WYWO Setup program ------------------------------------------------------ To install WYWO on your network server, from your workstation: Start Microsoft Windows. Choose File Run from Program Manager. Enter A:\INSTALL. (Replace A:\ with a Drive and Path reference if installing from a location different from the A:\ drive.) The install program will copy all necessary files to the destination you selected, most likely on your network server. At the same time, Install automatically decompresses the various WYWO files. Then, WYWO displays this README.TXT file in Windows Notepad. ************** Upgrade Note! ************** Before you upgrade from a previous installation of While You Were Out, make sure all users running WYWO on the network close WYWO and Message Monitor (Now Message Carousel) on their workstations. Upgrading WYWO only affects program files not data files. The new version will automatically configure itself to take advantage of new features. Upon closing this document, the install utility will automatically run WYWO Setup. WYWO Setup is the administration program for WYWO. It is used to set up user names, user groups and message types for the WYWO system. It is also used for clearing user's passwords should they forget them. WYWO Setup creates two files called WYWO.DAT and WMSGTYPE.DAT in the directory dedicated for the WYWO system. With WYWO Setup, you will be able to add, modify or delete users, groups and message types that are in the WYWO.DAT and WMSGTYPE.DAT files of the WYWO directory. To toggle between User Name and Message Type modes simply click the User Names button or the Message Types button. To add a user, click on the New button and fill in the name of the new user. Click on OK to enter the name into the system. You can modify the user's name or clear the user's password by either clicking on the Modify button after clicking on the user to be modified, or just double-click on the user name itself. You can then change the user's name or clear the user's password. To delete a user, select the users name and click on the Delete button. Click on the Save button when all users have been added, or click on Cancel to ignore any new changes. Once users are defined, you can organize them into logical groups to represent departments, floors, work groups, etc. Groups are identified in the user name list by square brackets, ex: [Everyone]. By default all users belong to the Everyone Group, allowing users to send and receive messages to everyone installed in WYWO. Users have the option of setting a default user group by clicking the Options button in WYWO on their workstations. Message Types can be added, modified, and deleted in the same manner as the User Names. You are now ready to run WYWO. ********** IMPORTANT ********** After installing WYWO on your network, make sure the WYWO directory has Shareable Read rights while user sub-directories have Shareable Read, Write, Edit and Delete rights for everyone using WYWO. Some networks require the EXE and DLL files in the WYWO directory to have Read Only attributes for proper operation. Example: (This is a DOS command) ATTRIB +R *.EXE Workstation Installation and Running the WYWO.EXE program --------------------------------------------------------- To install WYWO on each workstation: Start Microsoft Windows. Choose File Run from Program Manager. Type g:\wywo\INSTALL.EXE where g:\wywo is the shared drive you installed WYWO. The workstation will then have access to WYWO and WYWO Carousel. The Install program will automatically run WYWO for the first time and present the WYWO Options screen to the user. The first time each user runs WYWO, they must identify themselves to WYWO by selecting their name as the default user. The next time Windows starts, WYWO will automatically be loaded and appear as a pink message icon on the Windows Desktop. WYWO only monitors incoming messages for the default user. WYWO.EXE is the main WYWO program for sending and retrieving WYWO messages. Once the WYWO sheet is on the screen you are ready to send and receive telephone messages. To activate WYWO, simply double click the WYWO icon either on the Windows desktop or Program Manager. The WYWO icon looks like a pink While You Were Out sheet. Running WYWO Carousel --------------------- WYWO Carousel acts as a message rack/message board similar to those found on the typical secretary/receptionist desk. It is great for those users with or without a network that want to monitor all new WYWO messages that come in at a central location. WYWO Carousel will check for all new messages in the system at 30-second intervals and display the names of users with new messages. Messages for a particular user can be viewed through the WYWO Carousel by double-clicking on their name or selecting their name and clicking the Read Messages button. WYWO Carousel operates in two modes: The Message Board option displays the number of new messages as small WYWO sheets followed by the users name. The Message Rack option displays a series of message "slots" for all users with new messages. WYWO Carousel only displays new messages for users defined by the Default Group specified in WYWO Options at each workstation. To monitor other groups, simply access WYWO and click the Options button to select another default group. *************** IMPORTANT NOTE: *************** WYWO Carousel only allows messages to be viewed. Messages must be deleted directly from the WYWO program. Also, any new messages viewed through Carousel will remain as new messages until accessed directly by the WYWO program. ********************************************************* Thank you for your interest in While You Were Out 4.2 and Caliente International / Windows Support! ********************************************************* For your convenience, we've included an order form which is located in the ORDER.TXT file.
